As for the ticket machines, there is lots of options, but there is another page in the list, keep going down and you will have a language option (its in the list of types of tickets, bit silly really). It is equal to 10x single tickets and each usage lasts 75 minutes. Your article says 5 trips. You don't need to stamp it at the end... on the metro there is turnstiles on the exits but these open without a ticket.
