Food!

Garofalo pears - these were amazing: tiny, sweet, and spicy. Unfortunately, I haven't found them again.

On Aug 21, 2004, I wrote: "So I'm trying to learn about blogging - how is it different from what I already do (email newsletter and website), what would I use it for. I'm happy with my current publishing style for most of what I do, but there is one thing that might be fun to talk about in a blog: food. I love to cook as well as eat, and it's the only thing I do every day (eating, not cooking necessarily) that might possibly be of interest to others. So let's make this Deirdré's food blog."

I subsequently decided that I don't have time to keep up yet another medium of communication, and I'm not really a blogger by nature. If I wanted you to read my diary, I'd publish it (well, some really old ones - I haven't kept a diary in years). I prefer to put more polished writing before the public.

On the other hand, my scribblings, photos, and videos about food turned out to be popular (though not yet getting anywhere near the traffic of this website), and I'm never one to abandon hard work already accomplished. So here's the food stuff, moved over from the blog, and I will keep adding to it as well in this all-food section of my site.
