Oh, I so agree with you. I am having a really hard time living in Bologna. I have been in Italy for ten years now and I still feel obliged to respond chirpily and positively to the question “Allora come ti trovi qui?” Anything else is usually met with a stony stare. The day I admitted to not liking tortellini felt like I was “coming out of the closet”.
