The AccordionGianni Morandi, when he was very, very young… |
||||||
La fisarmonica | The accordion
stasera suona per te | this evening plays for you
per ricordarti un amore | to remind you of a love
uno di tanti anni fa, | one from many years ago
la fisarmonica. | The accordion
Ma tu non piangere | But don’t you cry
non si cancella così, | it can’t be erased like that
torna più grande che mai | it returns, greater than ever
il desiderio di te | the desire for you
quando vivevi felice con me. | when you lived happily with me
Se chiudo gli occhi | If I close my eyes
vedo il tuo viso | I see your face
rivedo il tuo sorriso | I see your smile again
ma le mani lontane | but the hands far apart
non si stringono più. | no longer clasp each other
La fisarmonica | The accordion
stasera suona per noi | this evening plays for us
torna più grande che mai | it returns greater than ever
il desiderio di te | the desire for you
la fisarmonica suona per me | the accordion plays for me
Era di notte | It was night
c’era la luna | there was a moon
baciavo le tue labbra, | I kissed your lips
era l’ultima volta | it was the last time
te ne andavi da me, | that you left me
amor | love |
Wow, just found your blog, it’s going to be a fun read. We share a birthday (I’m older than you!) so I expect to really enjoy your writing..
You divorced Italy! I’m afraid I might do the same thing. My husband keeps making noises about how he’d like to live there for a couple years and I always change the subject. I’d rather love it from afar than to have to choke on the climate or whatever else would send me over the top.
